We do our website design in WordPress. We get a lot of different responses to this. Some people say, “isn’t that a blogging platform?” Others say “I heard WordPress isn’t secure, won’t I get hacked?” Others say “Do you mean you aren’t going to design it yourselves?”

All of these questions reveal some profound misunderstandings about what WordPress is. In reality, WordPress is a powerful, flexible tool that can and does create some of the best websites on the internet. But, you need to know how to use it right.

Why WordPress Is Awesome

WordPress is free to install, deploy and upgrade. There are even free templates to use. But don’t get too excited. You still have to pay for your url and for hosting, and the free themes are pretty weak. To create something really your own, you’ll probably want to hire a WordPress designer or design firm.

And we aren’t just saying that because we are a WordPress design firm. We come across this time and time again, where a business owner tries to build a WordPress site without the appropriate information. It ends up taking tons of time and the result is subpar.

The dashboard is intuitive, and many are familiar with it. While designing a site can be difficult without training, editing wording on pages, and posting new content, is easy-peasy on WordPress. Posting images is also easy.

Lot’s of plugins. Need to sell stuff online? Companies have built amazing plugins that integrate into WordPress. Need to have a contact form? There is a plugin for that. In fact, there are 50,000 plugins, and many of them are free. (Beware, the free ones often don’t work well.)

Constantly improving. There are continual improvements being made to the WordPress platform. What it is today is much better than it was even five years ago.

Easier SEO. Powerful plugins can assist in making your site search engine friendly.

Very compatible with Google services. Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Google Webmasters, these are all easily integrated into the WordPress platform.

Landing page construction. Have a new deal, a new product or a new service, and need to get ads and conversions rolling now? WordPress sites, with the right theme, make it easy to create killer landing pages. A lot of WordPress themes, like Divi, Enfold, and Avada, have templates that can get you landing pages constructed quickly, and beautifully.
